Introduction of the lecturer:Prof. Dagmar Schäfer is a specialist in the History of science and technology in China and received her Ph.D. from the University of Würzburg, Germany in 1996. She worked and studied at the Zhejiang University PR China, the Ts’inghua University, Taiwan, the University of Pennsylvannia, U.S.A. and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, Germany. Now she is the Director of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science.
