• Collaborative Research on the History of Science and Technology by Tripartite institutions between Russia, China and Belarus

  On May 22nd, 2015, the International Symposium on the History of Aerospace Technology was held in the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow by the Vavilov Institute for the History of Science and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS-IHST). Two Directors, Professor Yury Baturi from the RAS-IHST and Professor Baichun ZHANG from the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of Chinese Acedemy of Sciences (CAS-IHNS), co-chaired the Symposium. Scholars from Russia, China, Belarus and France, as well as more than 30 experts and scholars coming from the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Moscow, the Russian Space Flight Participant Associations and Tsiolkovsky Russian Space Academy attended the meeting. Ten academic reports were delivered:

  Shcherbinin D Yu. (IHST): On the Museum of Space Technology

  Ponomaryova (IHST): The Female Strand in the History of Global Astronautics

  Krichevsky S. V. (IHST): The Ecohistory of Space Technology and 'Green' Astronautice

  Kantemirov B. N. (IHST): The Making of Soviet Rocket Engineering, 1933-1957. (In the context of M. K. Tikhonravov's work)

  Ivanova L. V.(IHST) and Laurence Ney Roshe (France): The 40th Anniversary of the First International Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. A Socio-cultural Aspect of the Project.

  Kondrat A. I.(Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center) and Shurov A. I. (IHST): Some Aspects of the History of Training the Trainers of the Cosmonauts

  Participants took a full discussion on these repots. Professor OU BAO from the Tsinghua University also attended the Symposium and took on the translation work.

  On the Symposium, a signing ceremony of the tripartite cooperation agreement was held, concerning the establishment of the International Center for the History of Science and Technology. Professor Yury Baturi from the RAS-IHST, Professor Baichun ZHANG from the CAS-IHNS and Professor Artyuhin M. I. From the Institute of Sociology of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed the cooperation agreement representing institutes in Russia, China and Belarus respectively. The three parties will jointly carry out various forms of transnational collaborative research and academic exchanges on the mutually interested and important issues on the history of science and related ones.
