At the invitation of Joshua Seufert, who is the HD Chung Chinese Studies Librarian of The Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford, Librarian of IHNS library Sun Xianbin attended the 35th annual conference of European Association of Sinological Librarians(EASL) during 8th September and 12th September 2015. At the meeting, Sun Xianbin gave an academic report on Source of the History of Sciences in China, which received warm welcome by the attendants. He also had extensive communication with European sinological librarians. The attendance of the meeting is to introduce the editing and publishing work of Series of Chinese Classics of Sciences and Technologies, a medium and long-term project organized and planned by IHNS, and to make preliminary connections with European sinological Libraries to extend the influence of IHNS in Europe. Tentative agreements of cooperation have been reached on literature resources with institutions such as The Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford. The report and communication promoted the exchanges between sinological libraries in China and Europe.

Afterwards, at the invitation of John Moffett, the librarian of Needham Research Institute(NRI) Library, Sun Xianbin paid a visit to NRI and East Asian Branch of the Cambridge University Library, and made an academic report on Practice and Meditation of editing Series of Chinese Classics of Sciences and Technologies. During this visit a discussion was held on further advancing and implementing the business cooperation between the libraries of IHNS and NRI under the agreement of cooperation reached by both institutes. The report and communication promoted the exchanges between the libraries of history of sciences in China and Europe.
