IHNS Signs a General Agreement with IHST, RAS

The Institute for the History of Natural Sciences (IHNS, CAS) and the Institute of the History of Science and Technology, (IHST, RAS) signed a general agreement on March 7, 2011.

Prof. ZHANG Baichun, the director of the IHNS, and Prof. Baturin Yury, the director of the IHST, signed the agreement. According to it, the two institutes will strengthen the cooperation in the coming three years, which focuses on projects:

- Comparative research on the development of science and technology in modern Russia and China;

- Comparative research on the development of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences;

- Knowledge transmission and technology transfer between Russia and China.

The Institute of the History of Science and Technology, RAS, was founded in 1932. It was the largest institute of research for history of science and technology. The first director of the IHST was Nikolay Buharin. The present Director Baturin Yury is famous Russian cosmonaut and former politician. Researches of the IHST cover a large range of area, which include history of natural science and technology in Russia, inventions-creations in Russia and historical influence of the RAS, etc.
