Journals of history of science

Knowing that journals are windows for showing research results and conducting academic exchanges, the Institute for the History of Natural Science has always paid great attention to the edition and publication of academic journals. As early as 1958, the next year after the setting up of the institute’s predecessor the Research Room for the History of Natural Science, Collected Papers for the History of Natural Science(1958－1966) was founded by the institute. Since then, Studies in the History of Natural Science (started in 1982, quarterly), The Chinese Journal for the History of Science and Technology (former China Historical Materials of Science and Technology, started in 1980), Translations for the History of Science(1980－1989, bimonthly) and Collected Works for the History of Science and Technology(1978－1992) were established by the institute at different times. Apart from Irregular collected works, the Institute for the History of Natural Science and the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology jointly sponsor Studies in the History of Natural Science and The Chinese Journal for the History of Science and Technology, which have exerted considerable impact in the academia circles at home and abroad.
